Workshop: “Refugees and Migrants: Boston’s Levantine Communities in Historical Perspective”

Apr 22, 2017
Tufts University

LAU’s New York Academic Center partners with Tuft University’s Fares Center for Eastern Mediterranean Studies to present this workshop that seeks to engage experts and historians with members of the Levantine communities by looking at their common history.

The collapse of the Ottoman Empire and the rise of the nation-state led to the displacement of many, including Lebanese, from the region to Boston at various times and they became an integral part of the city’s history and development.
