WPS Open Debate Side Event: Tensions and Synergies among Peace and Humanitarian Action to Fulfill WPS
The United Nations Department of Peace Operations (DPO), the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the Permanent Mission of Lebanon to the UN and the Arab Institute for Women, are pleased to invite you to save the date for a side event “A Shared Vision towards the Realization of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda: Tensions and Synergies among Peace Operations and Humanitarian Action to Fulfill WPS.”
This side event will showcase the importance of joint efforts to coordinate peace and humanitarian operations in strengthening women and girls’ participation in different peace and humanitarian decision-making processes, highlighting good practices, challenges and lessons learned.

Expert Panel Discussion with Humanitarian and Peace actors moderated by Dr. Lina Abirafeh, Executive Director of the Arab Institute for Women, Lebanese American University.
This event is organized in the margins of the upcoming Security Council Open Debate on Women, Peace and Security, taking place on 30 October 2019.
